Vera Salt
100% Microplastic-Free Salt
Vera Salt is hand-harvested in the foothills of Spain at over 2000 feet above sea level. This pristine location, far from human activity and pollution, features an underground aquifer feeding a brine spring, rich in natural minerals like calcium, potassium, and magnesium.

It’s hard to find salt free of microplastics or heavy metals. In fact, 90% of sea salt is contaminated with microplastics due to the pollution of our oceans.
I love Vera Salt because it’s not only 100% microplastic-free, but they also have independent, third-party labs test the salt — verifying that claim and showing heavy metal results and a mineral analysis. And then they regularly post those results on their site.
Based on those results, they’re also able to claim that their heavy metal content is significantly below industry averages.

I primarily use Vera Salt as a finishing salt — to sprinkle on my food for a final salting before eating.
While it is top-quality, it is also rather expensive for a fairly small quantity. So, I don’t use it in applications where I need larger amounts of salt, like when I’m fermenting.
